How to choose the right yoga mat

Ready to embark on your yoga journey? Choosing a yoga mat is a tough decision with so many great contenders out there. The mat you choose will be your best friend during your yoga journey, make sure you make the right decision. There are some great brands to look at:

Manduka are definitely one of the leading yoga mat providers. They offer so many options from Hot Yoga mats, eco mats, travel mats and give you plenty of options with thickness and length. I went with their PRO mat, although it’s not the most eco-friendly it has a life-time guarantee. There mats are super comfy and so durable, they also offer some great instructions for wearing your mat in (providing you have sunny weather).

My first yoga mat was a Lululemon reversible mat that I picked up on my trip to America. I absolutely loved this mat, it was eco-friendly, durable and comfortable. Unfortunately, it look me time to realise that I was allergic to latex. Every time I used my mat my hands would flare up in little blisters and dry out. I was super sad to see it go but Lululemon were so helpful in telling me the ingredients of the mat. Be really careful when you buy a mat to check the ingredients, often online they won’t mention what the full ingredients are so do message the company to find out.

I have always wanted to try a Liforme mat, I’ve heard such good things about them and they are so beautiful. Unfortunately, they contain latex so aren’t a possibility for me. As well as being eco-friendly, they give a great alignment system on their mats which I think would really help beginners.
